In 2015, Clear Sky decided to test their tent designs to see how they withstood the wind.
“Having erected a number of tents in some very windy positions, on cliff tops and at the top of escarpments, we thought it best to fully understand the forces that plays on them and see if there were any improvements we should make,” says the company’s Mark Scott.
“The designs and frames were sent to an independent testing lab who used their huge maths brains and their rather impressive wind tunnel to provide us with some certainty that our design could withstand the harsh weather and wind conditions in the UK.”
“As our tents were designed without guy lines to allow for a higher density, better health and safety record and for them to fit standard holiday park pitches, they are not of a traditional design,” he adds. “So, we were very pleased when the test results came out showing the structure capable of withstanding gusts of up to 117 kph (that’s 73 mph in post Brexit money).”
Clear Sky is one of the biggest sellers of Safari tents in the UK, ensuring quality and service.
