Camp Katur in Bedale was chosen as the winner of the Holiday Park of the Year in the 2017 Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards.

The Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards is the largest celebration of tourism excellence in the UK. The awards recognise the very best in the industry throughout Yorkshire. This year’s black tie event was held at Leeds First Direct Arena on Monday 30th October where all short listed entries were treated to a host of entertainment as they celebrated the country’s thriving tourism industry and all of the businesses that contribute to it.
The awards consist of 17 categories which include entries from Hotels, Pubs, Holiday Parks, Restaurants, Cultural Venues and Attractions throughout Yorkshire.
The independent White Rose Award judging panel was this year made up of Colin Mellors, Pro-vice chancellor of York University, Elaine Lemm, Food Writer, James Mitchinson, Yorkshire Post Editor and customer experience expert Mark Bradley. The panel met to draw up a short list for each of the categories, this was followed by mystery shopping by specialist companies before deciding on the winners.
