A new glamping site is being proposed near Lincoln to comprise of caravans and glamping pods.

The proposals submitted by R & B.L. Brewer this month, would see the new site built on land at Rushfield Lakes, on the north side of Station Road in Potterhanworth.

If approved, the current farm land would be transformed into a campsite including:

  • 32 touring caravans
  • 13 static carvans/mobile units
  • 12 glamping pods
  • 5 ‘hobbit hut’ glamping pods
  • Access tracks/paths and 89 parking spaces
  • Amenity block/cafe

In the north-west corner of the site, hobbit-style glamping pods and the touring caravans would be sited under the proposal, with the ‘traditional’ glamping pods and the static caravans at the north end of the site.

The amenity and café block would be located in the centre of the site. All facilities are spread around the existing lakes.

Subject to planning permission, developers aim to open the new site within 18 months.

Origin Design Studio Ltd, on behalf of R & B.L. Brewer, said in the application: “The development is expected to attract existing users of the site and new users from further afield in Lincolnshire, Nottingham and the East Midlands who wish to enjoy and explore the Lincolnshire landscape and/or lakes.”

The planning committee at North Kesteven District Council will discuss plans at a later date.
