A fabulous, long, hot summer this year and an increasing trend for staycations in the UK – a perfect recipe for your glamping business to flourish into 2019. Or is it?

The kids are going back to school and, as you bask in the glow of the season just gone, it’s time to turn your thoughts to how you’ll stay competitive as the glamping bubble continues to expand. It doesn’t only bring new customers; it brings new competitors and increasing visitor expectations too.

Increase bookings and occupancy

You can’t bend the weather to your will, but you can define the luxury outdoor experience your visitors can expect … with or without good weather! The experience you stand for determines how many bookings you get and how many visitors return year on year.

During the low season, decide how your glampsite will stand out against the crowd of operators vying for attention in 2019. The Glamping Show brings together sources of inspiration, practical solutions and connections to suppliers who will help you get the return on investment you’re looking for.

What should you be thinking about?

  • Booking systems that work harder for you and improve the visitor booking experience. Trial them at the Show and keep an eye out for exclusive discounts.
  • Luxury extras like Hot Tubs, fire pits, ensuite bathrooms, natural style lighting and hotel quality bedding and linens (to name a just a few!)
  • Unique furnishings and accessories that add really personal, homely touches.
  • Using your location, for example where are best sunrise / sunset views? Can you direct visitors to the best walking or cycle paths? Can you recommend or provide family activities?
  • Accommodation upgrades like stunning aerodynamic designs from new exhibitors and new products from well known Show supporters.

Share stories and make use of your support network

Don’t forget to take time to catch up with your network. It’s all too easy to bury yourself in your day-to-day operations when you run your own business but chewing over the cud with people who know why you pour your heart into your business is important too. Make this easy by taking advantage of being able to stay on-site at NAEC Stoneleigh this year in our own Glamping village.

There will be fresh coffee & pastries on the glamping site every morning, a chill-out tent with a place to charge your phones and there’s talk of a party or evening entertainment. Perfect for swapping stories and spotting great ideas!

Taking time to network will help you think creatively about your business and boost your ability to solve problems. Exactly what you need when you’re wrestling with how to realise your unique visitor experience!

We look forward to seeing you there: 20 – 22 September at NAEC Stoneleigh.
