In February 2019, AsiaDomes will start building 15 luxury domes in the popular Thai destination of Krabi.

The domes will have steel frames with a 30% transparent section to afford an amazing view of the surrounding nature. The domes offer 30 and 30 sq.m. of space and offer en suite facilities.

“We believe we will achieve the next level of glamorous camping in Thailand. The most important thing is to invest in our customers’ experience. We also want to boost the tourism industry in the country and create a positive social and environmental impact,” says AsiaDomes Founder Yke Kooistra.

In order to lead by example in the Thai community. AsiaDomes has started a development fund in order to generate jobs and create opportunities for people who need it the most. ‘It will be awesome when a Thai person can develop the necessary skills to start an eco-friendly resort or to be general manager at one of my locations,” adds Kooistra.

More than 30% of tourists search for an eco-friendly hotel when they travel to Thailand, but that is still hard to find. AsiaDomes will fill this gap. Tackling climate change, this glamping site has designed the domes to allow low-carbon emissions and a third less energy consumption for  air-conditioning when you compare it to standard buildings.

AsiaDomes has also given future customers the chance to be involved by launching a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGogo. AsiaDomes anticipates that the trend for glamping in Thailand is growing and it is already looking for a second location with the ultimate aim of creating a glamping chain all over South East Asia.
