This year, the 150th Open Championship, golf’s original championship, will be held in St Andrews and for the first time ever, guests will have the opportunity to experience the tournament whilst glamping.
The Open 2022 will be held at the luxury golfing resort, Fairmont St Andrews. Set on a 520-acre estate with a unique coastal setting, Fairmont St Andrews encapsulates luxury, elegance and truly breath-taking surroundings in the ‘Home of Golf’.
Up until now, the golfing resort has never expanded accommodation options outside of the venue but are doing so this year due to the overwhelming demand for accommodation for the competition.
The glamping accommodation will be available over the weekend of the 15th to the 18th of July with options available for solo guests, all the way up to groups of four. The glaming accommodation in question comes in the form of Airstream trailers and luxury bell tents.
Glamping guests at the Fairmont will have access to all of the amenities, restaurants and bars that Fairmont has to offer. Breakfast will be included, served in Fairmont’s Squire restaurant and luxury washroom facilities will be available on-site.
From the 15th to the 17th of July, a 3 night stay in one of the available Airstreams will cost £2,400 and a 3 night stay in one of the bell tents will cost £1,350.
