Luxury nature hospitality brand Beckons is expanding its Australian footprint with plans for a new nine-suite desert retreat near Uluru, one of the country’s most iconic natural landmarks.
The new property will sit alongside Beckons’ existing Longitude 131° lodge at Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa, offering guests views of Uluru from every suite. The development has received approval following ecological, heritage and cultural assessments with Traditional Aṉangu Land Owners, with the retreat expected to open in 2028.
The intimate lodge will feature private plunge pools, decks overlooking the landscape, a restaurant and shared bar facilities, while drawing on the same destination-led approach that has made Longitude 131° one of Australia’s best-known luxury wilderness stays.
The project reflects the continued growth of high-end experiential hospitality, where landscape, culture and sense of place are central to the guest experience. Rather than simply providing accommodation, operators are increasingly creating immersive destinations built around rare environments and meaningful connections to place.
Beckons launched in 2026 as a global luxury hospitality brand bringing together the Baillie Lodges and Tierra Hotels collections, with a portfolio focused on nature-based stays in remarkable locations.
