Guesty, the leading STR property management platform, finds in their latest data pull that UK STR reservation volume for the Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend (2-5th June) is 124% higher than the same time period in 2021.
On top of this, Pitchup.com are reporting that over 80% of the 2,000+ sites on their booking platform are now fully booked for the weekend.
This clearly demonstrates that many Britons will be enjoying the Jubilee weekend by travelling domestically for another long weekend trip soon after the Easter break.
Early May Bank Holiday (Monday, May 2, 2022)
Reservation volume for the UK’s Early May Bank Holiday (2nd May 2022) is -12% on 2021 (1st May 2021) and -22% on 2019 (6th May 2019).
While travel volume is down, prices continue to increase with average nightly rates for 2022 at £127/per night, +5% on 2021 pricing and +21% on 2019 pricing.
Spring Bank Holiday (Thursday, June 2, 2022)
Reservation volume for the UK’s Spring Bank Holiday (2nd June 2022) is +76% on 2021 (31st May 2021) and +1% on 2019 (27th May 2019).
Average nightly rates are £220/per night, +15% on 2021 and +58% on 2019.
Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday (Thursday, 2nd June – Sunday, 5th June 2022)
Compared to the same date range of previous years, reservation volume during the Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday is +124% compared to the same date in 2021 and +33% on 2019.
Average nightly rates countrywide are £202/per night, prices that are +10% on 2021 and +38% on 2019. A positive boost indeed for the local tourism sector & hospitality industry with Britons taking this opportunity to travel.
