So what exactly is a glamping pod? A glamping pod is a wooden structure that is a step up from a tent and offers weatherproof accommodation. Glamping pods can range from the relatively sensible cabin shape to ovals, barn shapes, to more outlandish designs that fit any situation. Typically constructed of wood, they provide a more luxurious camping experience that fits in with the glamping ethos perfectly.
The beauty of glamping pods is their flexibility. Thanks to imaginative designs and quality construction, glamping pods are incredibly popular with the travelling public.
The requirements for featuring glamping pods in your own luxury camping business are modest. If you’re planning to use a rustic pod, you just need a level area within reach of facilities. If you’re planning to integrate your pods into something more established, you can plumb, and add water and waste and electricity, then surround it with decking. It is entirely up to you.
The current range of pods for sale in the UK can range from £6,000, or up to £40,000 – depending on the size and facilities. While that’s quite an investment, you can expect to let them out from upwards of £80 per night.
