Yurt Specialists are based in inner Mongolia shipping their stock to Oxford for the UK market. They build yurts from 3.5 meters in diameter to 10 meters in diameter, all suitable for all year round use.
Staring at £2545 for the smallest yurt (3.5 meter diameter), Yurt Specialist provide a range of sizes up to the largest (10 meters in diameter) which costs £11,895.
The Yurt
The uniquely designed double layered yurt groundsheet consists of a PVC underside and a 100% canvas top that acts like a carpet for the interior. This groundsheet curves inwards to meet the walls of the yurt and tucks in-between the outer layer and the wool section meaning that water won’t be seeping into your yurt along the floor and it will also prevent any drafts. The Yurt specialists have also added a minimum wall height of 1.6 meters. This means that there will be a lot more usable space on the inside and it will feel more open. Steam bent willow poles are densely spaced along the walls of the yurt to ensure that it is strong and able to hold out against the weather.
The windows are situated at 3, 9, 12 o’clock and are triple layered with mosquito netting, a removable clear PVC section, and a roll down insulated cover. The insulation and weather protection is also triple layered with an outer layer of 16oz breathable poly-canvas which is silicone treated to resist water, then a layer of sheep’s wool felt insulation perfect for UK weather, and finally a white polyester inner lining that allows light to reflect around the interior. Also supplied are two roof caps, one is a fully insulated canvas cap with pre-cut flue holes and the other has a transparent PVC covering for the summer months.
