Epic Retreats will be a glamping experience with a difference. Only 200 bookings will be available for the ‘pop-up’ cabins which will be placed in some of Wales’ most beautiful locations. The project, run by the Welsh Government, chose cabin designs inspired by King Arthur and the Welsh industrial heritage.
Guests will be given unique Welsh experiences from sea fishing and beer tasting to meals by top Welsh chefs. The retreats will be available in 2017, during the Welsh Government’s tourism campaign “the year of legends”. A total of eight cabin designs were chosen for the glamping units, which will be built and placed at three locations.
Economy Secretary Ken Skates said he hoped the move would “attract visitors from far and wide to experience our amazing landscape and heritage”.
