The new 16-guest Khwai Bush Camp near Moremi National Park in Botswana is scheduled to debut by mid-2023.
African Bush Camps is opening a new camp on its popular wildlife concession along the banks of the Khwai River in Botswana. Reintroducing Khwai Tented Camp, a luxury tented safari camp that will occupy the former site of Khwai Bush Camp, which made its renown as a family-friendly ABC destination within the greater Khwai community.
Offering the same onsite facilities yet with an identity of its own, Khwai Tented Camp will open in mid-2023, welcoming up to 16 guests. The new tented accommodations are designed to be light on the earth and arrayed with modern furnishings and amenities to ensure comfort for adventurers of all ages.
With sturdy canvas walls and roof, each new accommodation – 6 doubles and 1 family unit – will feature en suite bathrooms with in and outdoor showers, a private deck and plunge pool, ceiling fans, a fireplace, superb bedding, and mosquito netting in every room.
Guests will also enjoy access to a central camp pool and the main building with a lobby and restaurant. Meals, cocktails, bubbly, and more will be served elegantly indoors beneath a thatched roof or outdoors on a deck shaded by sycamore and leadwood trees and overlooking Moremi Game Reserve.
Indeed, guests will always be just a glance away from the wildlife action of the reserve, the oldest protected section of the Okavango Delta, famed for lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo, giraffe, and extensive birdlife, as well as woodlands, forests, floodplains, forests, and rivers.
Guests will also experience wilderness throughout the day on morning, afternoon, and night game drives, as well as walking safaris and moroko safaris (depending on water levels). Visits to the Khwai village and sister ABC destination Khwai Leadwood Camp will be just a short distance away.
