Marriott International has acquired Postcard Cabins, previously known as Getaway, marking a significant expansion into the nature-based accommodations sector.

Established in 2015, Postcard Cabins operates over 1,200 cabins across 29 U.S. locations, providing guests with opportunities to disconnect and engage with the natural environment.

To date, Postcard Cabins has welcomed more than 2.4 million guests, who have collectively spent over 40 million hours in nature. The brand emphasizes simplicity and comfort, encouraging guests to slow down and appreciate the outdoors.

Integration into Marriott’s system is planned for 2025, at which point Postcard Cabins will become part of the Marriott Bonvoy travel platform, which boasts over 219 million members worldwide.

Jon Staff, founder and CEO of Postcard Cabins, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition in a press release: “In joining Marriott, we’re excited to bring the Postcard Cabins experience to a global audience seeking exactly what we offer—a place to slow down, disconnect from the everyday, and invest in the relationships that matter most.”

Marriott’s Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Development, Leeny Oberg, noted the alignment with current travel trends: “As guests are increasingly interested in nature-immersive travel, we are excited to welcome Postcard Cabins to Marriott Bonvoy, offering more awe-inspiring destinations.”

Beyond leisure stays, Postcard Cabins has been the site of over 600 wedding proposals and nearly 100,000 dog stays, highlighting its appeal to a diverse clientele.

One notable location is in Catskill, NY, featuring 51 luxury tiny cabins. This destination offers easy access to natural attractions, including hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and historic landmarks of North–South Lake, as well as the 260-foot Kaaterskill Falls, the tallest cascading waterfall in New York State.

Each cabin is designed for comfort, equipped with essentials such as a queen or bunk bed, hot shower, two-burner stove, private toilet, and WiFi. Additional amenities include a fire pit, s’mores kit, leash line for pets, and cookware.
