Tree Tents International has entered liquidation as of today (15. Dec), marking the closure of the UK-based wilderness structures manufacturer after several challenging years for the business.
According to an email announcement from Tree Tents, the decision follows the ‘compounding impact of operational costs and economic uncertainty over the last few years’, including the effects of Brexit and COVID-19.
Known for its bespoke tree tents and elevated accommodation designs, the company built a strong reputation for craftsmanship and innovation within the outdoor hospitality and glamping sectors.
The liquidation brings an end to the Tree Tents International brand, which was approaching its 10th anniversary in 2026.
All existing customer orders have been fulfilled, and the company has confirmed it will continue to offer support where possible during the transition.
Founder Jason Thawley shared the following statement: “I’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all the people we’ve been lucky enough to work with over the years, friends who’ve helped us along the way, those who saw my idea and strived to push it forward and mostly the amazing staff and team here at Tree Tents.
“It was to be our 10th anniversary next year and it would have been nice to celebrate that with you all but we never want to let anybody down, so, this is the sensible thing to do right now. We’ve fulfilled all existing orders and will help however we can going forward.
“Our talented team are now heading into new adventures – and anyone who gets to work with them will be very lucky.”
While Tree Tents International is closing, Jason will remain active within the industry. He is now available for independent work focused on the design, build, and installation of wilderness architecture, operating outside of the Tree Tents business.
