It began with a sketch, was brought to life on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces and now the next generation Tree Tent – the world’s first flat-pack, suspended tree house – reaches new heights as a pair are raised aloft on an island dedicated to outdoor adventure in Askersund, Sweden.
While the new Swedish Tree Tents look like the romantic vision from George Clarke’s episode, the Tree Tents International team have delivered a streamlined design that ensures increased returns for owners, more comfort for guests and has less impact on the environment than ever before.
Jason Thawley, Founder and Innovation Director at Tree Tents International, is the genius behind these creatively engineered structures and is thrilled to see them raised high for their new owner, Askersund Outdoor.

Askersund Outdoor are the organisers of the highly successful Askersund Outdoor Festival and launched the new Tree Tents with the first guests staying for the annual event on the weekend. While just four were lucky enough to stay the night, over 9,000 people attended the event, and the Tree Tents striking design certainly turned heads across the three days.
But Michael Malmborg, Project Director at Askersund Outdoor, adds that it’s not enough to simply turn-heads. You need back that up with a high-performance product that delivers comfort as well as a unique experience, keeping guests coming back for more.
“We wanted to offer accommodation that is an adventure in itself; that enhances the experience on our beautiful island.
