Charmed Resorts has received approval to develop a new 64-acre site in Alberta, marking its third location as the brand continues to expand its fairytale-themed accommodation offering.

The company, known for its immersive cottage designs, first opened in Blairmore in 2021, followed by a second site at Mulhurst Bay in early 2025. The new development will be located near its original Blairmore property in the Crowsnest Pass region.
First reported by Daily Hive, the project will feature 30 new fairytale cottages alongside 30 Renaissance-style glamping campsites, expanding the brand’s mix of themed accommodations. According to the company, a detailed, multi-month approval process with the Land and Property Rights Tribunal led to slight delays in the construction timeline.
Charmed Resorts now plans to break ground on Phase One in spring 2026, with the first cottages expected to open in 2027. Due to the custom-built and design-led nature of the structures, development will be rolled out in phases.
Ahead of the full launch, the company is exploring smaller pop-up events on-site later this year to introduce the concept to guests and the local community. A dedicated event and wedding pavilion is a key early priority, reflecting growing demand for group bookings, while additional amenities such as a spa and restaurant remain part of the longer-term plan.
“To ensure sustainable scaling, those larger commercial amenities will roll out in subsequent phases after we establish our core accommodations and the event space,” the company said.
Charmed Resorts also revealed plans for a themed retail concept, Cobb’s Corner Store, named after its new resort mascot. Designed as a wagon-style experience rather than a traditional gift shop, it will feature imported Italian gelato alongside costume pieces and accessories.
The operator is also in discussions to host large-scale live-action role-playing (LARP) events, using the surrounding forest and fairytale setting to create immersive guest experiences.
The expansion highlights continued investment in themed and experience-led accommodation, as operators look to differentiate through storytelling, events, and design-driven environments.
